T-524, after T-542 (every army's unit abilities, detachments and army rules as effects) and T-540, T-543 to T-547 (the engine reading them). V5 re-run with every kind and every effect switched in. The full write-up, the Tyranid table and the commands are in reports/tiers/2026-10-02-tyranids.md, "Coverage re-run". A report: nothing here changes a published score or page.
In short
- Tyranids (the judge faction): full coverage moves 1 letter against the last V5 + kinds run: Venomthropes C → B, through their own Foul Spores. Against V5 it moves 5: that one, plus the kinds already reported (Trygon A → C, Haruspex and Toxicrene A → B, Old One Eye A → S). The yardsticks:
| Yardstick | Last V5 + kinds run | Full coverage | |---|---|---| | ρ with Auspex | 0.39 | 0.39 | | The same letter as Auspex (of 44) | 17 | 18 | | Within one letter (of 44) | 30 | 30 | | ρ with Tyranid list share | 0.24 | 0.23 |
- Every other army: no change. Today's data files against the pre-sweep ones, everything else equal: 0 of 1,161 units change letter and no composite moves. For the other 27 armies the tier test reads none of these:
- units' own abilities;
- heals, mortal wounds, auras or Damaged X;
- army rules, except in the Tyranid pilot's shape.
The frozen-pool caveat from T-544 still applies in full. The Space Marine (−0.01), Ork (−0.12) and all-units list-share (0.129) checks read exactly as in round 5.
--armyfxas it stands inflates the Tyranids. Only the Synapse pilot is in the shape it reads, and its +1 Strength is already in V5's variable 5. With it, 26 Tyranid letters go up and 74 other units move only because the cuts do. Keep it off until it reads every army's rules.
What it needs next
- For the tool (tools/tiertest.js, another builder's):
- every army's own abilities and kinds in the pool's scoring;
--armyfxreading every army's rules through detfx.jsarmyEffects;- flags for a combined own + kinds run and a dump of V5's letters for every unit (read from a scratch copy this time).
- For the engine: the kinds the T-542 sweep named:
- fighting after being slain;
- Fights First from abilities;
- Precision and Anti as mods;
- damage re-rolls;
- marks for other units;
- auras on other units;
- resource pools;
- keyword exclusions;
- detachment single re-rolls;
- for the Tyranids, Rapid Ingress and re-deploying.
- For Jordan: the constants that separate the Tyranid support monsters and the Ravener family from Auspex:
- a Command point (15 pts now);
- a Battle-shocked enemy unit-round (10% of a median unit);
- the share of attacks an enemy debuff touches (50%);
- the worth of the detachment movement rules.
