Tyranids, round 6b: a CP worth 30 points (2026-10-02)

From reports/tiers/2026-10-02-tyranids-round6b.md , rendered when the site is built.

T-557 round 6b (Jordan, 2 Oct): round 6's run with V6C.CP_PTS = 30 instead of 0, every other setting as round 6 (tools/tiertest.js, the round-6 command plus --r6yard). T-558 stays open to price a CP from stratagems. A report: nothing here changes a published score or page.

The yardsticks

Round 6 and 6b from the same run; today's live letters are the published ones, which carry list share in them, so their list-share ρ isn't a fair contest.

Every Tyranid CP ability we count

Our words (docs/data/tierfx.json cp). CP a game = gain, discount and enemy cost times the rounds used; points at 30 a CP, then divided by the unit's points in Banner like every lent worth.

Where we disagree with Auspex by two letters or more (CP 30): 17 units

Seventeen, not ten, all listed. Gap: our letter against Auspex's (+ we rate it lower, − higher). Reason: the round-4 diagnostics (reports/tiers/2026-10-02-tyranids-diag.json); "not diagnosed" where round 4 had no entry.

UnitAuspexRound 6bGapBinReason
Hyperadapted RavenersSD+4utility we don't measureBought to lead Raveners (Sustained Hits for the joined unit) and to make Rapid Ingress cheaper and repeatable; scored alone, 165 pts buys one unit's damage
RavenersSD+4missing ruleDeep Strike plus a free return to Strategic Reserves at the end of the enemy turn, so it re-arrives every round to score or threaten; we play one arrival
ZoanthropesSD+4–not diagnosed; round 5's note: value for others (Synapse, Shadow in the Warp) that we count by stated guesses
MaleceptorSC+3utility we don't measureIts aura makes enemies within 6" worse at hitting (and wounding, once below half); a defensive debuff on the enemy, which Banner doesn't count
The Red TerrorAD+3missing ruleGoes back to Strategic Reserves after fighting and heals when it eats infantry, so it strikes again and again; we play one arrival and no healing
Winged Hive TyrantAD+3consensus likely wrongIn 1 of 23 winning lists; its CP discount and Paroxysm aren't ours to count yet, but players aren't taking it either
BiovoresSB+2missing ruleEach turn it can place a new Spore Mines unit up to 48" away instead of shooting: board presence, screens and action bodies; we score only its own gun
Hive TyrantSB+2utility we don't measureA 1 CP discount every round, an aura that gives nearby shooters Assault and Lethal Hits, and Synapse; we credit auras at a median lift (round 4; since 6b its CP counts 120 pts a game)
NeurolictorSB+2utility we don't measureForces a Battle-shock test each turn and makes shocked enemies within 12" worse and easier for Tyranids to wound; a cheap Lone Operative infiltrator; we score its claws and Runner only
Norn AssimilatorSB+2missing ruleSingular Purpose as the Emissary (re-rolls into its chosen target, or a near-immovable objective holder); the same size question
Norn EmissarySB+2missing ruleSingular Purpose: re-rolls against one chosen enemy, or OC 15 and a 5+ Feel No Pain on one objective; plus durability per point prices a 250-pt monster down (the size question)
TyrannofexSB+2–not diagnosed (round 4 agreed at S); round 6 took it A → B as Crusher Stampede made it an Anvil
Von Ryan's LeapersSB+2–not diagnosed; we have it as a Runner (94), Banner 0
ExocrineAC+2–not diagnosed; round 6 lifted it D → C (Crusher Stampede's OC), Hammer 65
Hive GuardAC+2acceptable varianceRound 4 had it one letter apart; step g makes it our best anti-tank per point, but it's in 1 of 23 lists, so players agree with Auspex more than with us
Tyranid Prime with Lash WhipCA−2consensus likely wrongIn 11 of 23 winning lists; leads Hormagaunts, Termagants and Warriors and gives the squad Sustained Hits, which is what we credit
TyrannocyteCA−2missing ruleIt must start in Reserves, drops its cargo once and can't take any back; our Runner and transport credit treat it as a reusable mission unit (0 of 23 lists)
