The Warhammer 40k meta, 11th edition: what's winning this week

The meta is what's working right now: the armies, detachments and units that keep showing up in lists that win tournaments. It moves with every points update and balance change. We count lists that finished in the top quarter of their event and set them against our own tier list of every unit.

About the meta

What is the meta in Warhammer 40k?

The meta (short for metagame) is the set of armies, detachments and units that are winning games right now. Players copy what wins, so the same picks show up list after list until a points update or balance change moves things on.

How does Tactical Reroll measure it?

We count the published lists that finished in the top quarter of their tournament over the last two months and compare them with the two months before. A pick is Meta in 12% or more of those lists, and Rising when its share has at least doubled.

How is the tier list different?

The tier list scores every unit with our own dice maths: damage into standard targets per point, how hard it is to kill per point, and what it does on the table, lifted by how often winning lists take it. The meta is what players actually take. A unit high on both is a safe pick; one high on the tier list but rare in lists can be a sleeper.

How often does it update?

Every day, from new tournament results. Every Monday we also report what players tested on the site that week.

What players test each week

The first report arrives after the first full week of anonymous counts (the week of 28 September 2026): the units players test most, the targets they fear, the hottest matchups and the units going into their lists.

From anonymous counts on tacticalreroll.com (names and totals only: no list, no address, no ID; see privacy). A matchup counts once someone settles on it for a few seconds. Tiers and tournament meta from our rankings.
